A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week

She LOVES her hands

Wednesday morning laugh

I came across this video while mindlessly surfing through YouTube.  I really don't know what to say about it other than 'WOW' and 'you're welcome' for broadening your horizon on different ways of exercising. HAHA!

*** OH.... And be warned, the camel toe is pretty intense....

Crabby Sunday

Sunday afternoon we went to my aunt and uncles house (Aubries maw maw and pawpaw's house) for some boiled crabs and grilled shrimp... YUM-O!

These were caught fresh behind my uncles fishing camp.

Nothing better than family and good food on a beautiful day.

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week.....5 months!

"A baby girl is one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know, and one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in your world today."

- Unknown

Height-  25"
Weight-  14.4 (unofficially.... I put her on the scale with me)
Your sleeping patterns- We still sleep together.  I've been trying to get you to go to bed by yourself, but you are not too fond of being alone in a dark room....even with a night-light on.
Your feeding schedule- Nothing has changed here since last month.  You still love to eat.
Some sounds and motions you make are-
You are talking so much more, but you are so bashful about doing it in front of others.
This month, you really like- To do anything that we are doing.  You reached for dads glass the other night and actual put it up to your mouth....with a little assistance, you actually took a drink from a cup.
Your dislikes- You hate to be alone especially at night.... after some observance, we are pretty sure that you dislike the dark.
Your favorite toys and games are-
You still LOVE your playmates and today your Jumperoo came in the mail (Thanks Mawmaw!).  You like the jumperoo, it's the same one that is in the nursing room at church.

Wall art

Since having Lil miss, I haven't posted many pictures of my chalkboard (which I still LOVE).

With the many blessings we have received lately, I wanted to do one showing my thanks.

It reads....

'Sing to The Lord, for he has been good to me'
- Psalm 13:6

And this was Lil miss while I was working on this board.
That smiles melts my heart every time!

Waiting game.....

I'm so exited! Alston and I just bought a new car- a very big family car.... Or I guess I should call it a truck. Friday evening after he got off we went to Carmax and bought an Eddie Bauer Expedition!

I paid my car (Chevy equinox) off in May and was sooooo excited, to later find out that I was in desperate need of a tune up. We had planned on waiting till next summer to buy a new family car, but obviously my car had other plans.  Another thing that made us want another - bigger car is that while my parents were down we had to take 2 cars everywhere because with Aubries carseat my backseat would only allow 1 other passenger.  (About 2-3 weeks ago I had her carseat inspected for safety and found out her base anchors/hooks required an 11" spread which took up 1 1/2 seats).
We originally had decided on a Tahoe, we were adamant that that was what were wanted..... Until we rest drove one and we left disappointed. There just wasn't as much room as we had hoped for.  After that test drive we ended up at Carmax looking at their Tahoes' and Suburbans. But out of the blue we walked up on an Expedition.... I told Alston to go for a test drive with the dealer and just see.  He came back in total AWE of its size and ride.
If you've never looked at Carmax and you're thinking about buying a car, I strongly recommend going there. No hassle at all! You pay what's on the window, and from my research, they offered the best price for what we got. The sticker price compared to the NADA & Kelly blue book value was only $550 difference.
So after spending all of last week shopping online, running numbers on monthly payments and getting a quote on insurance we found our dream car!

BUUUUUUT........ Now we have to wait. The expedition we found is in Dallas. We had to pay a transfer fee of $200 for a trucking company to haul it here. They said it can take up to 14 calendar days, maybe here sooner but could take 2 weeks.   So now we wait..... BOOOOO.

I find myself looking at pictures of it a couple of times a day, not believing its really ours!

I'll post pictures once its "officially" ours and the papers are signed!

      Taken this morning before church.

A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week

Sometimes when I need a miracle, I look in my daughters eyes, and realize I've already created one.

Instagram

I can't believe I haven't mentioned on here about my new addiction...... INSTAGRAM!  I love it, I love being able to share my pictures of my family. I'm getting away from Facebook (slowly), I find myself only getting on there for two private groups I joined... The Breastfeeding group and the cloth diaper group.  I've decided to not post anymore pictures of Aubrie on there, I don't like the idea that anyone can 'share' my daughters images as their own.

If you'd like to check out my Instagram pictures @holliegarner11

You know I can't post on here without sharing a picture of Lil Miss! ;)

Weekend with the Parents

I was so happy my parents were able to come down and visit, even though we live 700 miles away, we are on about a 6 week visitation rotation.  So it's not too terrible....the goodbyes are hard.  Especially now that Aubrie is here..... :(

For the most part we just hung out and enjoyed just being together.  Friday my mom went with me so I could get  my hair done (Thank the Lord).

Saturday was my cousin Candace's birthday, she would have been 27.....so we spent the day with my aunt and uncle.   When Candace was 16, she was in a car wreck that took her life.  Aubrie's middle name is in honor of Candace: Candace D'Laine, Aubrie D'Laine.  Saturday morning we got up and met my Aunt for breakfast (just us girls) then spent the day visiting at their house.

That evening we went and put out new flowers on Candace's grave, then we all went to dinner.

Sunday we all got up and went to church-What an AMAZING service.... "For me and my house we shall follow the lord" and the voices of Mobile was there.  If you ever get the opportunity to hear this group-GO!  You will not be disappointed.
Lunch after church

Sunday evening we took Lil Miss to see her very first movie.... DESPICABLE ME 2!!  She LOVED it!!  I was hoping I'd feed her and she'd sleep through it...NOPE.  Once she saw that big screen, she was hooked.  She was so stinking cute.

See.... She wouldn't take her eyes off the big screen!

First family movie date night!

Mom and dad left Monday evening late (sucked.....) but we have already planned our next visit!

HAP-PAY HAP-PAY HAP-PAY 4th of July

What an AWESOME weekend..... not only was it Aubrie's FIRST fourth of July, but my parents came down for a long weekend YAY!!!

We spent the 4th at my aunts house-eating, drinking and being MERRY.  Thursday is also when I took Lil Miss' 19 week pictures (even though Wednesday is when I was supposed to....) she was just tutu cute not too....(haha, okay a little cheesy)

Lil Miss LOVES her feet....they are always up in the air just "waiting" for someone to rub them.

Of course we had to take a family picture in front of "THE CHALKBOARD"
The Mimi and Pawpaw from Oklahoma

Here is my PINTEREST dessert for the 4th....A fruit flag and star cut-out watermelon. (Thanks Hubby for the help)

Aubrie looves my aunts neighbor Hayleigh! she will let her hold her all day, and Hayleigh will just play and play with her.

Her new favorite toy

I had to borrow Aubrie from Haleigh to take this picture...  ;)

Hanging with MawMaw

Love her lil expressions.....  makes my heart happy

She has found her thumb... I know its super cute, but I hope its only a phase.....
